Key Cucine presents Strip, the luxury kitchen for those who like to perform over a hot stove

The lights go up on 2021 and Key Cucine transforms the living area into a stage for resident chefs with a new concept of modern kitchens. It all started with a desire to combine the cooking and dining areas in a single room that was perfect for conviviality, a place for sharing with friends and family that gave the same importance to preparation of the food and the meal itself.

This concept of fusion between kitchen and living area led to Strip, a new idea of luxury from Key Cucine, and the brainchild of designer Nevio Tellatin. Conceived for a target that demands a fine product with minimal design, Strip is designed for cookery performers: the hob faces the diners and allows host and guests to chat face to face, even during cooking, the chef never turns their back on the table and can transform preparation into performance.

Just like watching a show.

Inspiration for this collection of modern kitchens comes, in fact, from the wings in theatres, where actors wait at either side of the stage before making their appearance, hence the expression “in the wings”. Nevio Tellatin takes this concept and reworks it on the doors here, with one American Black Walnut “strip” after another, in an apparently random yet deliberately regular pattern. This movement of lines called “Continuous Wing Effect” is the result of a special milling procedure that copies an undulating curtain and looks like stage wings. The circle is closed by a stage-hob which allows the chef to face their guests, welcoming and entertaining them.

The intention is to encourage dialogue, face to face with guests, as if the cook were an actor in a performance that teams the culinary art and the art of entertaining.

Strip is yet another example of the ability of Key Cucine to design top-end modern kitchens where knowhow is celebrated by new-gen kitchens with innovative function and form.
