METHIS: Material Intelligence and the Power of Detail

In the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Key Cucine presents its flagship project at the Agape Milano showroom: METHIS. Created in collaboration with designers Tellatin and Brotto , the kitchen draws inspiration from the Greek concept of mètis: the practical intelligence that guides action and translates into flexibility and precision.

The system is born to surpass expectations , offering an environment where contrasts coexist in a unique balance: the urban allure of cement harmonizes with the nobility of marble and wood.

The Architecture of Volume

  • The Island as a centerpiece: Crafted in coffee fossil oak, it features a calacatta iron marble top with deep veining that echoes the warm tones of the wood.
  • The illusion of suspension: The base, reimagined as a recessed structural frame, visually lightens the island’s significant volume. Rather than a simple technical closure, it is a design feature that grants the block an almost architectural suspension.
  • Tailored ergonomics: The worktop introduces a recessed area dedicated to preparation , integrating a system of grooves that allows accessories to slide and overlap fluidly.
  • Material symphony: The double sink, integrated with mobile tops, transforms daily gestures into a fluid and precise sequence.
  • The design backdrop: A cement grey boiserie frames recessed glass columns and stone pivoting doors , complemented by a surface in city bronze oxidized metal finish.

METHIS is not a static composition, but a modular and deconstructable system : an evolved domestic architecture capable of evolving together with those who live within it.
